Stephanie Cherubin, Test & Integration Specialist

Stephanie Cherubin is just one example of the many inspiring success stories within our organization.
Stephanie started her career with Security Resources Inc. (SRI), a company acquired by Protos in 2019, over 10 years ago. She joined SRI after graduating from college in Kentucky with a degree in middle school education and moving to New York shortly after. Starting out as a Dispatcher, she had big plans of moving up in her career and learning as many new skills as possible. Working in the security industry was a new and exciting adventure for her, and she was just getting started.
Stephanie has held many roles over her time with the company. From first joining as a Dispatcher, to a Scheduler, then Operations Assistant Manager and working her way up to her current position as a Test and Integration Specialist, it’s been quite the journey. When SRI was acquired by Protos in 2019, Stephanie was instrumental in getting SRI’s daily operations integrated with Protos and onboarding into the new GFX platform. During this transition, Cameron Tabor, Senior Vice President of Software Engineering, reached out to her about joining his team. Stephanie had established a relationship with Cameron after they worked together on implementing our GFX software. She was responsible for testing and communicating with the team during the process of building the software.
“In Operations, I was responsible for managing employees and clients. My current role focuses heavily on technology and software. I feel like this role was made for me, and I truly love my job. I am grateful for the opportunities Protos has given me to grow into this position.”
Using her experience of working with GFX helped her in her role, but she had to learn a lot of new skills on the job. Protos encourages employees to expand their knowledge and skillset by taking educational classes, which Stephanie took advantage of. During these training courses, she was able to learn more about coding and how developers work, allowing her to do her job more successfully while working with others.
“When we receive a request, I understand the different ways it might affect other departments. Even though we have divisions all over the country, I know how to effectively respond to requests based on my experience working with dispatchers and security officers.”
When the developers launch a new product, Stephanie is responsible for making sure it works properly and integrates with existing products. She seamlessly translated the skills gained from her experience in dispatch and operations into valuable contributions within the software department, such as understanding how to communicate with the team to ensure the users are getting the best experience possible.
“My favorite part about working at Protos is the people. I have met many different people over the past 10 years and built some amazing relationships and friendships. The company culture here is positive, and I have always felt appreciated working here. I encourage all new employees to learn more, always. I’m proud of how far I’ve come since being a dispatcher, and I have gotten to the point of where I am today because of the skills and knowledge I’ve learned over my career.”
