Anthony Varchetto, President of Blue Star Security and head of Protos Security’s Specialized Division, was recently featured by Journal & Topics Media Group for his work supporting law enforcement mental health through Bank The Blue. A retired Chicago police officer with more than 22 years of service, Anthony helped establish the nonprofit in 2020 to connect officers with confidential, third-party mental health resources.
Bank The Blue provides free access to clinicians who understand the unique challenges of law enforcement, while also offering training and outreach programs to help departments recognize signs of stress, depression and suicidal ideation among officers. Since its launch, the organization has supported more than 100 officers throughout Illinois and continues to expand awareness across police departments.
For Anthony, the mission is deeply personal. With thousands of off-duty officers working across Protos Security and Blue Star Security, he views supporting officer wellness as an extension of supporting family. As he shared in the article, even saving one life makes the effort worthwhile.
